Tiramisu Recipe | How To Make Classic Italian Dessert Recipe Tiramisu is a timeless no-bake Italian dessert combining espresso-dipped ladyfingers and a creamy lightly sweetened mascarpone cream. This recipe is from the late Maida Heatter and is easily the best homemade tiramisu recipe that We have ever tried.
Ingredients: Expresso or instant coffee - 3tbsp Hot water - 1 cup 5 egg yolks Sugar - 125g Mascarpone cheese, at room temperature - 500g Vanilla extract - 1tsp Cold Heavy cream - 400ml 22-25 Ladyfingers Cocoa powder for dusting
Procedure : 1. Prepare the coffee by adding the hot water to the instant coffee and then let it cool. 2. Combine yolks and sugar and continue whisking over a saucepan of simmering water for 9-10 minutes. Remove from steam and cool slightly. 3. Add the mascarpone and the vanilla essence to the cream and continue to whip until the mascarpone and cream has mixed up nicely. 4. Whip cold heavy cream to medium peaks. With a spatula, fold whipped cream with mascarpone mixture until blended. 5. Dip ladyfingers in coffee and place in a pan to make the first layer. Don’t let the cookies soak too much otherwise they will fall apart, just a quick dunk in the coffee is enough. 6. Now spread half of the cream mixture on top of the first cookie layer and repeat the process with the second layer of ladyfingers and cream mixture. 7. Finally, dust the top of the cake with some cocoa powder using a sieve and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight and serve.
